In 1916, Robert Frost wrote a poem that included the words, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

And then there was Jerry Seinfeld’s cynical take: “Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason.”

For us, we love taking the backroads of America and seeing things most vacationers don’t see. For example, we would have never seen the largest telephone in the world if we hadn’t taken a road less traveled through the small town of Woodstock, New Hampshire.

Taking the backroads, driving through the rural countryside, and passing through the small towns of America make all the difference in the world for us—turning a vacation into an adventure.

Our stop at Niagara Falls was the last major event of our adventure. However, the next thousand miles on the way back home will offer plenty of photo opportunities as we travel the unbeaten path home.

Below are some pictures of sights we saw yesterday on our way to Warren, Pennsylvania. We are in Warren because it sits at the edge of our next adventure—driving through the Allegheny National Forest.
